Street View For Museums – Sort Of

It’s almost like this article is describing street view for museums. And I guess if you consider the fact that taking a ton of pictures, then allow people to navigate around the museum via those pictures in a 3D like experience…yeah, it is a lot like street view.

The concept does hold strong when you consider that the Iraqi museum, the museum in question above, has so much to show people. But for obvious reasons, using the Internet can do so much more for showing it off.

As I read further into the article, I discovered another aspect for the motivation for bringing in the Google team to take all 14,000 pictures. Clearly, there is motivation here to entice other US based businesses to get into Iraq. Not sure how it will all pan out, but it should be interesting nonetheless.
