Upon first hearing about local search with Google Mobile, I was skeptical as to how worthwhile it would actually be for most users. After reading up on it a bit however, I am confident that most people will be pleasantly surprised with what they are going to end up with.
Not only is this search totally optimized for the mobile user, it is also able to help you keep track of points of interest using a favorites model. Finding things locally could not be easier, either. Merely query for something you are looking for, or instead use the provided categories.
I personally am a fan of the categories. All I need to do is browse to the local services in the area that I happen to be at within any given time. It’s really quite cool!
