I really don’t believe there is any question that these days, AOL has VERY little going for it. Honestly, about the only thing of interested provided by the company at this point is their video offerings that almost compete with Hulu.
And with what I consider to be an identity crisis of the moment, it is not all that shocking that AOL would be putting such emphasis on redoing its staff situation. Laying off the relatively new COO to me, just goes to show how flip-floppy AOL’s been with who they want running things.
Then again, maybe the problem is larger than that? Maybe it is a matter of the company having too many people running the and too few actually doing the physical work? Might even go along with conflicting strategies that are taking place at the same time…
