Yahoo! Has A Plan B?

There should be an image here! After reading this great article on how Yahoo!’s Carol Bartz is completely clueless and based on my estimation, should be thrown out immediately by Yahoo! shareholders, I had to smile. The emperor has no clothes.

Bartz is a danger to the company’s future, in my opinion — not even considering her deal with Microsoft. The fact that she still cannot seem to determine whether or not Yahoo! is here to compete in the search space appears to change almost daily.

But even if Bartz is right, somehow Yahoo! competes in a vacuum untouched by Google. The fact that Google is investing heavily into the portal space had better wake up Yahoo! in a big hurry. Every time I read something new about Yahoo!’s CEO, I find it completely obvious that she hasn’t got a real plan for getting Yahoo! moving again. And that is just sad… I used to love Yahoo!… back in the 1990s.

Is very sad, not only because Yahoo! was one of the first “icons” of the net in good old times, but mainly because is a sign that some people did not learn from problem passed in last year of suffering.

Companies are living (in the sense that are alive) places where people work, produce, earn (eventually a lot of money if they deserve this). Companies, unfortunately for some people are not cash cows to use or play with at their will risking to destroy them.
