Yelp, Citysearch Is Falling Down!

So what is the deal with Yelp beating out CitySearch? Are the number reflected here all relative and does it actually mean anything substantial? No, I think it matter very little. At the end of the day, the biggest advantage I see with Yelp is the SEO going on behind the scenes. I have heard on a number of occasions that search engines tend to treat Yelp with some fair authority.

This being said, both web services offer iPhone applications, but again I think Yelp has the better of the two. It seems that they really pushed to get more functionality implemented. That and I believe I have seen the Yelp app in an iPhone commercial at one point.

So in the end, does any of this matter? With the fact that most people are likely to end up using whatever Google puts in front of them these days, I think not. No, Yelp may be a hit with some circles and for what ever reason CitySearch still manages to push past its 1990’s fame to keep from failing, in the end it doesn’t really matter.
