Some Sizzle For Fizzle, Among Others
So it is just that easy. Provide some kind of spin on real time search and you too, can jump onto the real time search bandwagon apparently. Honestly, real time search is a joke as far as I am concerned. Seriously, outside of trend spotting, it serves no one and the search engines making their way on this bubble of BS are going to burn.
Now I realize this is a twist from some of my past thoughts on the matter, but I have just never been able to make real time search useful for my daily activities. And keep in mind I use search a lot during my day. It’s critical to what I do.
So with the news that OneRiot is making news for themselves because they figured out how to allow search to various twitter tweets – I find myself yawning. Who cares, no one outside of geeks living in a virtual world are ever going to really use this. Twitter, sure, there’s community there. But there is simply no clear payoff with these silly real time search engines.
