Dictionaries Of Old

There should be an image here!It has been said that that the Web is the great equalizer. Thanks to browsers with spell checkers and a virtual dictionary only a Google query away, the dictionary of yesteryear seems like something of an unnecessary antique.

But let’s consider something for a minute here. What happens when we are in a place without mobile Web access or Google on a computer? Where do we turn to then? Ah, yes. Then suddenly the obsolete becomes needed once again as if by magic.

Despite the seeming lack of need for a book type dictionary, just remember that books are something far too valuable to replace. Because they do not require batteries or network access, books such as the dictionary can still present obvious value in locales where the Internet is not so readily available.
