Microsoft To Google – This Time It Is Personal

There should be an image here!Honestly, I am not sure how I would take the news of Microsoft hiring someone who is really interested in giving Google the run of its life. When someone mentions the individual in question used to work for Yahoo!, I want to laugh at that notion. But then I remember that while Yahoo! may not be number one in search, it is among the top in other areas.

Then you tie in the fact that Qi Lu rolls hard. Meaning that while others might be yearning for the weekend over at Google, Lu is pushing his team hard to get things right this time. Failure is not an option as he is still disappointed with how things went against Google and Yahoo! last time.

With a new mission and a clear set of goals, it is highly probable that Lu is just the man to take Microsoft from its current yawnfest of a search market to something truly amazing. Still early in the game, but this is a guy to watch and I am as many of you know, not a MS or Yahoo! fan.
