Ad Sales Down While Google Keeps On Trucking

While the rest of the online ad spend is down, I am willing to bet that in select niches with Google AdSense, money is still being made hand over fist. Based on what I am reading in this article, it appears that my suspicions might actually be right.
Truth be told, I think that it has been proven time and time again that the traditional CPM model is tired. Not dead, as it can still work…but it needs to be revamped badly I think. Bundle this with the success seen with Google Adwords and Adsense, it clear that the advertising model that worked a few years earlier is evolving.
Speaking for myself personally, it is a matter of finding contextual, relevant ads. And sadly, no one ad service is going to get this 100%. But when an ad inventory is running low in addition to competition from Google, you are going to see things hitting the fan for the industry in a very big way.
