Twitter Too Much For Teens?

This report on just who is using Twitter these days really caught me off guard. While there is really no question that kids are generally more drawn to Facebook and MySpace, I was surprised to read this article stating that kids were avoiding Twitter as they felt it to be less safe?
Seriously, how in the hell is MySpace possibly safer than Twitter? Both networks have the option of being quite open. Yet with so many young people frequenting MySpace, there is little question that this is where the creepy individuals will be congregating.
As for Twitter, the fact that it lacks all of the social media “crap” is why many teens prefer Facebook and MySpace. Twitter lacks the ability to poke, send hugs or other mindless time wasting features that users of the other networks have come to love.
