Death Of XHTML 2 To The Birth Of HTML5

There should be an image here!Had to see this one coming. As XHTML 2 comes to a close here at the end of 2009, we see 2010 on starting a new day with adoption of HTML5. Some of you may already be aware of some of the advantages of HTML5 such as how it handles video.

But there are other advantages as well. And as HTML5 becomes the norm, it is likely that we will see it becoming a lot more influential and the news about it will continue to push forward.

Thus far, the W3C seems rather pleased with the results thus far. And by all means, they should be. HTML5 will produce cleaner results than its predecessor. As for the once famed XHTML, well, it is likely to go the way of the Dodo bird.

HTML5 was developed along side XHTML5, XHTML is not dead at all, it even includes all of the features of HTML5, the difference is that XHTML is still valid XML and allows extension of the namespace etc. HTML is no longer valid SGML
