Google Takes On SMS
Let’s face it, not everyone in the world has access to the very latest in wifi, notebooks and iPhones. Some folks are frankly feeling pretty fortunate to have access to something as basic as SMS on their mobile phones.
I have been playing around with the SMS search service from this link. And considering what the limitations of SMS happen to be, I think that Google is offering a fairly decent solution for a rather heavy handed technology shortcoming.
The search functionality however, is very limited and not all that helpful when compared to what you can get from a traditional mobile browser. This being said, I did find the SMS Tips that Google offers, to be an outstanding option for those looking for health, medical or weather related tips.

Great news from Google.
I think Google created a good solution for people that do not get along with technology.
Another great solution is text2land.com service that allow you to send sms messages to landline phones.

this is handy for it’s dictionary function, weather, stocks, etc.. the small things.
if you search for a specific company like: pizza hut [zip code] it works great. the generic location searches fail though.
800-goog-411 is the best business search for mobile.

They’re right, Google SMS has been around a bit.
Google Voice also makes use of SMS allowing users to send messages from your browser to someone’s mobile phone. In fact, people can also send your Google Voice number messages which you can receive on more than one mobile phone. Interesting stuff, that ,Google Voice!
Also, 1-800-GOOG-411 is a great service!

Its all about how Nokia can work with Symbian Developers to ensure that their apps are showcased in the Ovi store the right way.
