Outlook Renders With Insanity

There should be an image here!Without question, I will never again subject myself to using Outlook ever again. And based on what I am reading here, it is clearly the right move to make despite my toying with it using a VirtualMachine recently. Not using HTML, instead relying on Word to render email? UH, hello?

Either MS has never tried rendering newsletters with Word or simply does not care. My theory is that they are so prone to making sure Outlook remains only available in a bundle, that making MS Word mandatory once again shows just how little MS cares about user choice.

Don’t get me wrong, pre-2002 I was a big fan of the PIM software. But from 2002 on, it has continued to go down hill fast. So the idea of Outlook dumping HTML is not at all a surprise to me at all. Despite the fact many people would prefer having HTML displayed over Word processing things, it’s pretty clear that MS wants people to just “suck it up” and get used to it.

It’s good to see something that’s not U.S. centric here.

    Greetings from Egypt.

Agreed, and greetings back from the U.S.!

I don’t think we’re ever intentionally “US centric,” Ahmed. It’s just where most of us who write for LockerGnome live, so that’s what we usually wind up covering. But thanks to the magic of the Internet, I can return greetings to you! Cheers!
