Frankly, I am not sure what has taken this long for Twitter to come to professional gaming. And as luck might have it, we are seeing it with professional poker. What I am interested in seeing is Twitter coming to other sporting events. Can you imagine boxing like this? Crazy as it might sound, it would give a whole new angle to the way people look at the sport.

Baseball, soccer, the list just keeps on going. Clearly, some sports are not terribly practical here for embracing Twitter at this level. But at the same time, I think some sports are a perfect fit. Chess, comes to mind.

I can see it now. A grandmaster contemplates his next move, makes it and then shares his views on what he has just done with the world. Could be pretty exciting, really. Again, not a smooth fit for every sport. But it would be fun to see more activities embracing Twitter like this though. Nascar, perhaps?
