Is Jason Calacanis Reinventing Wikipedia As We Know It?

Say what you will about Jason Calacanis. Based on my one and only time bumping into him at Gnomedex some years back during his Webblogs Inc. days, I was shocked he actually had any idea who I was. He said “Hey Matt, how’s it going” and we then parted ways. He seemed nice.
So when I hear that Mahalo is designed to allow folks to make some money with a “Wikipedia that pays“, I think Jason might very well be onto something. After all, he has had some great successes. I think that he might very well do well considering the current employment picture out there these days.
Is Mahalo the ultimate means of making money online? Not really, but think that opportunities to work with folks like Jason or Chris Pirillo, only work to provide new opportunties. Lockergnome, also provides a working opportunity for individuals looking at a revenue share for content.
