iPhone Apps A Threat To Mobile Search?

There should be an image here!We like to think that with mobile broadband, mobile search will flourish. But then we see articles like this one that call the whole thing into question. The basic idea is that iPhone apps actually take away from usage of the mobile web, thus leaving users to rely more heavily on whatever applications send them to preselected sources via the app itself.

Speaking for myself, an iPhone owner as well, I would say the opposite is true for me. While some people might find themselves using their apps over the mobile web, I still heavily rely on the mobile web as I feel that it provides me with more choices than anything seen on the app front.

This is not to say that others out there are not having a different experience, but based on my own usage habits, the iPhone apps are hardly a threat to using mobile search when I am on the go.
