Seattle P-I Doing Better Out Of Print

Compared to some newspapers out there, the Seattle P-I was pretty good. Sadly, as the P-I newspaper soon discovered…pretty good was simply not good enough. It has been sometime now since the newspaper has gone to an online only format. And thus far, I find myself missing the old format in a big way.

It is difficult to put my finger on it specifically, but the P-I is now reading my like a blog than a newspaper. Not merely due to the fact that it is no longer available in print, but the fact that just about everything it in is written by “community members” rather than people who actually have any background in what they are talking about.

Despite this change up, I have learned that the P-I is expected to do better than it has previously because of these changes. It may still be a ways from profitable, but at least there is hope that the once great newspaper could stop bleeding money soon.
