Google Blog Search Improved?
Google Blog Search has served us well for a long time now. And despite it being rather simple, it does allows us to find content derived from blogs with relative ease.
Now from human to algorithm-driven content management (sorting), as you can see in this article, the use of algorithms is no cure-all for relevancy. So while it might work for some sites, it is a non-starter for Google Blog search based on what I have seen in recent use.
The idea that it takes a machine to filter content, is a habit that Google does not appear to be in a big hurry to change. And sadly, there is little evidence of this changing despite competing services showing that algorithm-driven management is not the only game in town. For Google’s sake, let’s hope they are able to understand this sooner rather than later.
