Spock To Be Beamed Up By Intelius?

Does people search honestly find itself dominated by the likes of LinkedIn and Facebook? Apparently, some folks seems to think so. And because of this, we find that Spock is in a really lousy position. Even if the rumors are true, Intelius does indeed end up buying them up, who cares? I have tested it on a number of times only to find myself wondering what the point was?
To make matters worse, clicking on “See more details” brings me to a nice popup asking me to open up my wallet for a service that is not really that critical to me in the first place. So rather than just show me the results, their failed ad model is now supported by popup ads to buy a service I can find elsewhere cheaper. No thanks.
With all of this being said, I think that if they started over, Spock could be something really cool. But first they need to lose their dated assumptions that users are going to be willing to pay for an unproven service from sources we have never even heard of. Come on, really? I would sooner beam my money up to space, first.
