Firefox Getting Back To Speed And Performance?

Seems like only yesterday Firefox first rolled out version 1.0. Ever since then, performance has in my opinion, taken a significant hit on both the OS X and Linux platforms, while remaining largely intact for Windows users. To point out how frustrating this has been, does not begin to express how I feel.

Thankfully there are tweaks we can use for Firefox to undo all of the unneeded performance eating crap Mozilla has shoved down our throats. Despite these frustrations, I cannot complain too much as this is the browser that has brought me so much joy with goodies like Grease Monkey and various add-ons over the years. So it is not like I can expect perfection, right?

Luckily for fussy folks such as myself, it appears that Mozilla is finally giving Firefox some much needed attention on how it is going to be interacting with web applications and its own browser performance in general. And let’s face it, with Google Chrome competing with it, Firefox needs to get with it on the performance side of things!

yeah, totally agree. I don’t even use FF anymore because Chrome is just so much quicker, and I’m not a huge add-on fanatic, so no loss there :)

Firefox has already established itself as being “quicker than most”, for the sole reason it is one of the few with add-ons or widgets providing any discernible use. Slap on the Adblock Plus and let the browsing commence like lightning. But I cannot object to making the best better. Just don’t go too far: wouldn’t want us to get greedy, now.
