Who’s Your Poll Daddy?

  • No Related Post

We have quick and easy access to video embedding due to YouTube, why not have a YouTube for polls? That is what the folks over at PollDaddy.com hope that they have created. Have they? I think so. All the kinks might not be worked out of the system just yet - but this is one free poll solution I do not mind using at all.

Usually when you have free Web site tools like this, they are ugly and covered with ads. This is not the case with PollDaddy. They do have a small text link back to them on your polls, but that is it. No popups. No monkeys that need to be punched. No flashing links.

As far as styles go, they have some nice ones to pick from. You can deliver your poll through JavaScript, flash, direct link, widget or RSS. With the JavaScript ones, you can create your own style if you are not happy with the stock ones they provide. Making this stuff editable is an awesome trend that I hope others will copy from them.

They support all the big social networks too, so you MySpace folks are not left out of the crowd.

What would I like to see? I would like to see them roll out a paid membership version of the service. I’d pay a couple of bucks a month to get rid of the PollDaddy link and to add a few new perks here and there. Hopefully over time, they will do just that.
