Inspecting Your Web Site’s Content

Now when it comes to content writing, sure you could hire an expert and pay him or her loads of money to rewrite much of your Web site’s text. I have seen it done before (I have even done it before) and it is not that hard of a job to do. Most folks in this spot just have a few lines here and there and want things to be a little more filled out. What I want to show you is how to take bad Web site content and make it better.
Take this as an example.
Here at my Web site I like to talk about wrestling.
Now as you can see - this is more than dull, it is down right boring to read. You are not really telling me anything of interest, you are just sharing a fact. Now if somebody asked me to rewrite this text, it would go a little something like this.
Turnbuckles and the squared circle are what get me going. I have been an avid fan of guys like Hulk Hogan and “Macho Man” Randy Savage since before I could speak. I am one of the few, the proud, the professional wrestling fan.
You see how much better that looks? Now you don’t have to turn the body of text on each Web page into a short essay, but adding a little meat and potatoes to your text is not a bad thing at all. You can have all the flashy menus and pretty designs you want, but if the content isn’t there people will start looking somewhere else.
