Ask For Free Hosting

If you are a school, church, or non-profit organization in need for Web hosting, things can be a little tough. Even though the price of Web hosting has gone down over the past few years to nearly nothing, paying the hosting bills might still be a hard thing to do. What is the trick to getting free hosting if you find yourself in this situation?

Many times all you need to do is ask. I have several friends who own or work for companies inside of the Web hosting industry that make exceptions in these cases. Some give free hosting away to public schools and others give hosting away to organizations or clubs. Sometimes it is not that well known or publicized - but if you ask about it, chances are the sales person you are talking to would love to let you know about it.

Now what is the catch? Well some of the time you will be getting a dumbed down version of one of their basic or low end packages. That is something to watch out for as well. I mean, you are getting it for free so there is not much room to complain. If you need a certain thing though you might be better off paying for your Web hosting.

One good place that I know you can find people who will be willing to host your Web site is on the hosting forums out there. Most of the big ones do have sections to “request” for hosting. You might get lucky and find the right Web host for you there as well.
