MODx - New Content Management System

  • No Related Post

It has been a while since I saw a new CMS (content management system) that really impressed me. Sure there are dozens upon dozens to choose from out there, but it has been a while since one raised my eyebrows and made me even start to think about moving away from using WordPress on all my Web sites.

That was the case of course, until I ran across MODx.

MODx is a new Ajax friendly CMS system that has all the bells and whistles you could ever want or need. Here is a little more about the project from the developers.

MODx is 100% buzzword compliant, and makes child’s play of building content managed sites with validating, accessible CSS layouts – hence Ajax CMS. It empowers its users to build engaging “Web 2.0″ sites today, with its pre-integrated Scriptaculous and Prototype libraries. If you’re a CSS designer or Ajax aficionado, this is the CMS for you; and if you like what you see today, you’ll love what’s coming.

All in all, it is a very nice package. I have a feeling that over time, it will only continue to get better as well. If you want to give it a test drive, you can do so over at OpenSourceCMS.com.

So is this going to be the next big thing or is it only cool because they mention Ajax a lot? You tell me.
