Web Popularity and Making Friends

  • No Related Post

Now I know here we cover a lot of the technical ways of making your Web sites or projects better. Have you thought of all the social aspects that might make your Web site a little more popular? Nobody can argue with the fact that it takes people to make a Web site a success - but how do you get them to come?

In the world of Web design and project development “if you build it, they will come” doesn’t exactly play out like it does in the movies. I think that might be why so many projects out there fail. People hire the designers, programmers and writers. They have an awesome service to deliver to the public. Why are things not working? They have no friends. The best way you can make sure you next Web site climbs the popularity ranks is to spread the word about it.

Contact people who are in the same area of expertise and let them know about it. Even if you don’t know them, most people are more than happy to check something out and give you some feedback. When I started my Web hosting podcast I contacted almost every single person in the hosting industry. By doing this, I happened to make a lot of good friends along the way and now they are more than willing to spread the word about my projects and links.

Don’t be afraid to contact new folks and tell them about your ideas. There are no celebrities in the Online world. Everybody puts their pants on one leg at a time. Don’t let other people’s success intimidate you from getting some success of your own.
