Web Layout Inspiration

  • No Related Post

When I first started doing Web layout and designs for my various projects online, I always had a few resources and guides bookmarked to help me as I went along. A few places even offered a dummy or skeleton layout that I would like to use to get started. Kind of like having your plate in hand before you start putting food on it. Well I have found another nice collection of basic layouts for you all to use.

Here is a little more information about the Layout Gala:

In November 2005 I presented on pro.html.it a three-part article on creating CSS layouts using techniques like negative margins, any order columns and in some case opposite floats. The main goal of the article was getting the maximum number of layouts based on the same markup, each with valid CSS and HTML, without hacks nor work around and a good cross-browser compatibility.

There is a layout here for just about every design idea you might have had. If you know the basic “look and feel” you want a Web site to have, but you do not know how to do it - this is your new starting place. From here you can get the basics and fill things out as you go along.

All layouts use valid markup and CSS, and have been tested successfully on Internet Explorer/win 5.0, 5.5, 6 and beta 2 preview of version 7; Opera 8.5, Firefox 1.5 and Safari 2. To pick up the layouts for your own use or to read more about them, you can visit the Layout Gala.
