Ordered Lists Are Conversation Starters

One of the oldest and most tested content creation tools in the history or mankind is the ordered list. For millions of years people have been making lists, and sharing these lists with others. I have a feeling that even the cavemen probably made lists; although they might not have been very long. So why should you care anything about them? They are great for starting conversations.

When it comes to Web sites and content creation, every tool helps. If you are running low on ideas, a list might be the best way for you to go. Once you have a topic, a list can spider out of that from every which way you might choose. You could create the best of that topic. You could create the worst of that topic. Any opinion that can be held can be made into a list for folks to read and learn from.

Now as far as blogging goes, the list is alive and well. It would almost be safe to say that it is almost used too much. Maybe I am just getting tired of seeing all those “best Firefox extensions ever” lists.

Regular Web sites can get a lot from lists, too. Maybe you need to cover a list of services you offer? Perhaps you want to list a few of your accomplishments? The sky is the limit. Just make sure you do not forget about the list and it will never let you down. You can count on that.
