I love to see Firefox extensions that really add neat and cool features that I might have not thought of before. The MileWideBack extension makes the left side of your Firefox window a really big “go back” button. All you need to do is click on the left border of the window, and you are back to where you were before.

Here is what the author of MileWideBack has to say about it.

Allows you to quickly navigate back in the browser history by clicking on the left border of the window. Also, navigate forward by right-clicking on it. If you are using tabbed browsing, middle-click on the left border to close the current tab, or rotate the mouse-wheel to cycle through your current tabs. (For optimal usability, please make sure that your window in maximized.)

Now I am not sure how many people will really find this functional, but it is a neat browser trick. I will probably continue to use the back button. With that said though, it is nice to see more than a few folks thinking outside of the box.

This Firefox extension is for versions 1.0 and up of the browser. To pick up your copy all you need to do is download it via the Mozilla Add-ons Web site.
