Sure, I can type pretty fast. Over the years, I have found myself typing faster than I can write. When it comes to the number pad though, I am all thumbs. I do not know why, it just seems very unfamiliar to me. I have a feeling that I am not alone though.

There is no need to worry! The Numpad Typing Drills extension for Firefox will get us all into number typing shape. Here is what the author of this extension has to say about it.

Learn touch typing of the numpad keys. This is a numpad version of my other extension, Addictive Typing Lessons. With even more feedback and options. Click the statusbar icon to open the program. Start typing to start the timer. When 30 seconds are up, it shows your score.

The first lesson is the 1-9 keys in easy patterns so you can memorize the keys. The other lessons include more keys: 0 . / * + - The 12 lessons generate an endless number of 30-second drills. It saves your best-ever and 15 newest scores and errors for all 12 lessons.

I wish I could tell you that learning to type numbers fast saves lives, but I can’t. It just comes in handy when you need to crunch some numbers and you don’t want to keep looking down at the keyboard. As I said before, I still have to look down to make sure my fingers are on the right numbers.

Maybe this is an extension that we all need to use.
