This is a rough commentary, but truly - ouch! While I agree that Opera is definitely not for everyone, is the version for the DS honestly all that bad?
August 15, 2006 - The Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable have been in a heated battle even before their debuts in late 2004, and one of the biggest guns of the PSP front is its enormous versatility - it seems like every other day Sony gives its system a new feature. One of the earliest abilities given to the PSP system post-launch was the ability to surf the web if you’re within a Wi-Fi signal - not a very gaming-oriented function, but it’s still a cool checkmark for Sony to place on its handheld.
But wait, said the Nintendo DS owners. Our system can also hook up to Wi-Fi networks. And it has a touch screen! Why can’t we get on the web too?
Well, thanks to Opera, now you can. But here’s the thing: after extensively tinkering with the recently released Nintendo DS Browser, we don’t want to do it any more. It’s nice to have the ability, sure, but it’s so crippled and slow that it’s very close to unusable…. Source: IGN
