Don’t you hate it when somebody comes looking over your shoulder to see what you are doing? Maybe you don’t want them to know? Well with the Page Title Eraser extension, now they won’t have a clue. It hides your Web page titles to keep others in the dark.
Here is what the author of the extension has to say about it.
The Page Title Eraser (pte) is a simple Mozilla and Mozilla Firefox extension which allows to hide title and icon (favicon.ico) of the selected tab. It provides more privacy at your workplace.
I always open several tabs in a Firefox window, but I would not like other people see some of tabs labels. So I wrote the pte extension which helps me to have such feature. I hope that it can be useful for office people.
The Page Title Eraser adds menu item to the page context menu. “Right-click” menu includes a “Hide title” menu item. Using this item you can hide/show tab and window titles and tab icon. Each tab has its independent instance of this item.
You can also us this new option through the “Tools” menu item, toolbar button and hot key combination: Ctrl + Shift + H.
Now I’m not saying I have a lot of things I want to hide. It is nice though to know that I can.
This Firefox extension is for versions .8 and up of the browser. If you want to download it and try it out for yourself, you can do so at the Mozilla Update Web site.
