Google Calendar Notifier

  • No Related Post

Everybody has tried out the new Google Calender by now, right? If you haven’t, it is pretty neat. I wouldn’t say it is going to change my life, but it does do a good job at managing it. Now that we have this great tool, we need a way to get notified from it. Google Calendar Notifier does just that.

The Google Calendar Notifier Firefox extension lets you know when dates on the calander are coming up.

The install might be a little tricky, but it is worth the work:

1. Make sure the calendar you plan on using is shared, or that your using a private feed url
2. How to get the feed URL for your calendar: http://code.google.com/apis/gdata/calend…
3. If your using a feed URL, make sure it looks like this before saving it in the extension:

From Google Calendar: http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/[emailaddress]/private-d2684e9f0f63a67f8595cd7af1c325d9/basic

Needed for extension: http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/[emailaddress]/private-d2684e9f0f63a67f8595cd7af1c325d9/

4. Make sure you set your time zone preference! This might be very buggy, so please get in contact with me if your time zone has issues ( mavr1k at gmail.com)
5. And don’t forget to enable notifications!

If you want to download it and try it out for yourself, you can do so at the developer’s Web site.
