Ever been to a Web site where you wanted more information, but didn’t want to give up your personal E-mail account? Creating a disposable E-mail address for those Web sites is a good way to protect the E-mail accounts you like the most. Without disposable E-mail accounts, you are bound to run into endless amounts of spam and garbage.
Minus the cape and funny tights, here comes the Create Disposable E-Mail Address Firefox extension. Here is what the developer of the extension has to say about it:
Create free disposable email addresses and paste them directly in forms. This helps to protect you from spam mails and is could be useful when subscribing to forums or newsletters.
The email addresses can be deleted at any time!
This plugin uses the free TrashMail.net DEA service.Guide to use this extension:
Click the right mouse button in an editable field. A menu will appear with the option to paste a disposable email address (see screenshot).
There are several extensions out there like this in the wild today. I think this extension is better than all the rest. It makes it simple to use, and there is no “fuss” to be seen.
This Firefox extension is for versions 1.0 and up of the browser. If you want to download it and try it out for yourself, you can do so at the Mozilla Update Web site.
