Even though we all use these ultra powerful personal computers, I bet we all have a old school desk calculator handy at all times. Some habits are hard to break. Well, now you can access a calculator anytime via your browser. Toss that old adding machine to the wayside and get this calculator extension.

So what is this Status Bar Calculator all about? Here is what the developer has to say about it:

It’s a tiny calculator icon in the status bar. Click it, to expand it and use it. Click the ‘+’ to change to ‘-’, ‘/’, or ‘*’. Click ‘=’ to get the answer (output to the first text box). Or, if you don’t like to use the mouse, you can use the +, -, *, /, ^, = function keys to do the calculations instead (just like a calculator). Click the calculator icon to shrink it to just the icon when not using it.

I do have to say this has been a pretty handy addition to the Firefox browser. When your not using it, you can hide it as a calculator icon in the status bar. When you need it, click it. After clicking it will stretch out and be ready to do your number crunching.
