Lockergnome reported that the IE 7 Beta Preview has been released. Unsurprisingly, people are talking about it (a few slams, of course) in many places. Some people may have downloaded it and installed it, forgetting that newer versions of IE always take over past versions. Thanks to several excellent resources, it’s possible to uninstall IE 7 and run it separately without losing IE 6.
To remove IE 7 (Thanks, Techenclave):
Click Start / Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs.
Check “Show updates” radio box.
Scroll down the list to find Internet Explorer 7 and click Uninstall.
Restart and IE 6 is back where it was before IE 7 swallowed it up.
Instructions for running BOTH IE 6 and IE 7 here.

Uninstalling IE7 on Windows XP sp2 does NOT return your system to the
same state that it was in before IE7 was installed.
Some Javascript and DOM functions will still fail.
Certain dll’s are not replaced during the uninstall process and the
JavaScript functionality will remain broken.
If you use AJAX or heavy form related JavaScripts , do not expect them
to start working again after uninstalling IE7.
