Every week, someone asks me for market metrics for content management, web content management in particular. What is the size of the market? Who has what marketshare? The unsatisfying answer is that I have no idea. It appears that no one else does, either. I’ve seen estimates for just the Web CMS marketplace putting it at anywhere from $400m to $8B worldwide. I suspect it’s closer to the lower figure than higher, but that’s still a wide spread. [Read the rest]
