Chitika Improves Reporting, Adds Channels

Chitika has improved it’s reporting for the popular eMiniMalls in more than a few ways recently. Gone are the days of the rudimentary reporting of only impressions, clicks and amount earned. Now affiliates can see their CTR (click through rate) as well as the average CPC (cost per click). Adsense has never shown the CPC in their reporting even though it would be an easy statistic to give.

Chitika has also caught up with other popular ad formats like Adsense by adding channels to their reporting. For a clear example of how to use channel reporting, Chitika’s blog has a great example.

eMiniMalls now supports Channel tracking. Channels allow you detailed tracking on your eMiniMall units. Chitika allows you to specify your own channel names, so you can set meaningful names like “180×150 Side Unit” or “Home Page In the Morning”. Your reports can then be broken down by channel name. This allows you to break down the performance of your eMiniMalls units by metrics you define.

These advancements in reporting are a great benefit to their affiliates. I think there may still be some advancements that could be made, but I don’t doubt the smart people at Chitika are already working on it.
