Duplicate Content Filter

If you are a Webmaster, you should be familiar with things like scraper sites, 302 hijacks, and GoogleWashing. They are theories or speculations on techniques on how other Webmasters can hurt your page rankings in search engines. Earlier, Google denyed that someone else could hurt your rankings. This has changed and Google’s Webmaster F.A.Q. pages now say: There’s almost nothing a competitor can do to harm your ranking or have your site removed from our index.

The fact is that anyone can use Google’s duplicate content filter and get another site GoogleWashed, and steal his ranking and traffic. More on Threadwatch.
