As a Website or gaming portal, I think it is safe to say the IGN pretty blew it by teaming up with Nintendo. Anyone care to guess how the reviews are going to be turning out now?
IGN, the multimedia website that is renowned and respected for its quality journalism and editorials nothing, is teaming up with Nintendo to create a wireless service for the Nintendo DS. Nintendo officially announced today that they will be using IGN’s GameSpy Technology to connect people around the world, hopefully without flash ads for McDonald’s and marijuana.
“With minimum setup procedures, Nintendo DS owners will be able to enjoy Wi-Fi gaming just as easily as if they were playing with their friends in the same room,” said Nintendo executive VP Reggie Fils-Aime as he hurled watermelons at the moon. DS owners will be able to choose whether to connect with strangers posing as 14 year old girls or their friends posing as 14 year old girls (”ur not 14 stfu lol”) by using their home Wi-Fi connections or public Wi-Fi hotspots. The service will be free, much like the polluted air we breathe. “Now developers can easily and confidently add advanced matchmaking, community and other multiplayer services to their Nintendo DS games,” noted Mark “Stiggity” Stieglitz, general manager of IGN’s GameSpy Technology Group.
