WebSideStory Acquires Atomz For $40M

Seems like everyone is buying out everyone else these days! socalTECH is reporting that WebSideStory decided to buyout the Avivo Corporation for the cool sum of $40M in cash and stock. More of a merger really, this deal is going to put both companies in a stronger position for a better Web presence as time moves along.
San Diego-based WebSideStory has acquired Avivo Corporation (Atomz) which provides site search and web content management for approximately $40M in cash and stock. WebSideStory will launch a new integrated service for online marketing professionals based on the acquisition. WebSideStory said that it will combine Atomz’s hosted site search and web content management application with its own HBX web analytics service. WebSideStory said that it will issue approximately $3.1M shares of its common stock and options, plus pay $4.3M in cash in exchange for Atomz. The deal also includes a earn-out based on revenues by Atomz in the next fifteen months.
