Now this is a program that could save a lot of people a whole lot of heartache! PhishGuard works to alert you to sites known to be scams right their from the comfort of your own Web browser. A cool idea to be sure, I am still a little unsure as to the accuracy of this program though.

PhishGuard is a software/service that helps you detect and block phishing or spoofing attempts, usually designed to lure you into providing personal or credit card information to fake online sites. The program integrates into Internet Explorer and warns you whenever you visit a site that is known to be a scam. It uses an online community database that you can easily submit suspicious links or emails to, by using a simple drop icon on your desktop. We tested the software with three random phishing scams from our mailbox and it detected and intercepted all three.

Requires free registration. Only works with sites opened in IE
