Getting ranked high in search engines

Getting highly ranked in a search engine is all of our dreams. Some of us accomplished that, others haven’t. I am one who hasn’t. This useful article will give you a few tips to get highly ranked. Along with getting ranked high, comes with benefits. The big one: Hits on your Web site.

1. Keyword Research
A good way to get high rankings is to find the keywords on which your Web site is trying to target. My Web site for example would be targeting “Blog, Journal, Personal, Pictures.” Simply because it has everything to do with those following words. Useful tools like Wordtracker helps you identify words that are searched most often.

2. 200-words (Minimum) per page
Most of the time, search engines love to pick up lots of content. Do not be afraid to put an incredibly large amount of content on a page, simply because search engines will most likely be able to pick up your Web site quicker, then picking up others. This is also good, because then you will have more detailed content on one page, compared to others. Which Web site would the search engine rank higher: A page with more detail, or the one with least detail?

3. 100kb maximum HTML size
As far as loading wise, the shorter the better. A 100kb page will take 20 seconds on a 56k dial-up. If it is any longer then 20 seconds, do you really think the dial-up user will want to stay waiting?

4. Page titles that count
The title of the Web page is the key. The title says it all. Whether or not if it is a page about Lockergnome, or even a page on a 15-year old boy. The title allows the visitor to know what they are looking at, and where they are.

5. Headings and Sub-Headings
Headings and Sub-Headings are a great way to keep everything organized, and break it down for your visitors, making your Web site easy to research. With these, your visitors will know in advance on what they are going to read about. This makes life so much more easier.

These useful tips will help you get ranked higher, and help your visitors feel more welcome when going onto your Web site.
