A web site by designers for designers. Found this site called Web Page Design for Designers today and thought I would share it with you all. Unfortunately, the person that runs this site is headed for retirement. This is a shame, but there is a lesson here regardless.

I believe that this is an example of how people are creating resources that they feel are lacking to meet the needs of like minded people.

I have often said that, in Web design, you have to run just to stand still.

Well, this is the 80th WPDFD editorial and after more than eight years of writing and producing Web Page Design for Designers for the first of every month, I’ve decided to stop running. My sixtieth birthday is looming large and I’m out of breath!

I’m retiring.

From January, there will be no new articles and WPDFD will become an archive of past editorials. I’ll leave the site tidy with direct links to some of the most popular articles and tutorials. Apart from that, I won’t be doing any more updates or adding new links. I won’t be sending out any monthly newsletters or answering any more questions. The WPDFD Forum will remain active for a while. I can’t say for how long.

Right, that’s the short story. If you want to read the longer one, you can read it in the final editorial. If you have been a regular reader, thank you for your support over the past eight years. Nothing lasts forever. I just hope you got something out of it all.
