Alien Skin software, which is a local company here in North Carolina,
announced Wednesday that it would be doing
another plugin suite.
I have been following Eye Candy collections since Alien Skin produced
Black Box
a long time ago. Eye Candy plugins are an easy way
to create effects in Photoshop or other graphic design programs that
it supports.

Alien Skin Software on Wednesday announced that Eye Candy 5: Nature,
the second in a three-part upgrade for Eye Candy 4000, will ship next
month. It’s a set of 10 plug-in filters designed for use with Adobe
Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, Jasc Paint Shop Pro and Macromedia
Fireworks, with four new filters that generate translucent icicles,
refractive ripples, rust and snow or frost. The Rust filter also adds
moss and mold to images and text. Nature features presets for more than
200 effects, scriptable keyboard shortcuts and a settings management
system for creating new presets.

Nature follows Eye Candy 5: Textures, which was released earlier this
year, and precedes Eye Candy 5: Impact, which will ship in 2005. Impact
will include a variety of graphic design effects, including chrome,
bevels and shadows. Nature costs US$99 and requires Mac OS X v10.2.6, a
G3 processor running at 500MHz and 256MB RAM. Adobe Photoshop 7 or
Photoshop Elements 2, Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004 and Jasc Paint Shop
Pro 8 are supported.
