Web page creator update

I think it’s time I update an earlier post. I said I was looking for the ‘ultimate’ WYSIWYG HTML editor. I was really starting to lose hope, but that’s turned around. Two things helped lighten up my mood- the author of the program Antenna and a reader who suggested I try NetObjects Fusion.
As it turned out, both are options. In the case of Antenna, we’ll call it a potential, since the author and I are still having some discussions over what would turn version 2 into version 3 and the turn it into the Ultimate WYSIWYG editor.
NetObjects Fusion is already pretty darn close. Both programs have control areas where they are less than clear, but both have their strong points. Fortunately for me, I already had a licensed copy of NetObjects Fusion 7 on hand. I hadn’t installed it because of lack of time, but after the recommendation, I figured I’d better at least take a look at it. I’m planning to get version 8 as soon as possible. This program has all the facilities and tools I need, including a wonderful photo album maker tool. It’s not perfect, but it comes close enough for now. I expect version 8 to be even better.
I like Antenna, but I’m having a hard time getting used to the controls. It just doesn’t do things in a way that comes intuitively to hand. Not bad, just different. NOF, on the other hand, does its best to automate functions. SOme tools are not logically labeled, but they’re all there. It can even do automated animation effects, which are amazing to see in operation, knowing that it took only a few clicks and keystrokes to produce.
I won’t say my search is over, but I’m going to be too busy producing web pages to worry about it, for a while.
