A very pleasant example of what CSS can do for a Web site when implemented with a little TLC. When I looked at the Middlebury College site for the first time, I was definitely introduced to a very pleasant surprise. Easy to read content, not to mention it was simple find what I was looking for. And of course, the overall layout was nothing short of spectacular.
I think that when people ask us about the true benefits of CSS, we ought point to sites like Middlebury College so that the folks posing the question can see for themselves.
Forgive me for being a little late with this week’s feature. Just couldn’t quite get motivated for some reason or another. But, it’s certainly not because I wasn’t excited about this week’s featured site; Middlebury College. ‘Cause it’s a snazzy looking delight of a CSS site. Even though several of the site’s 15,000 or so pages are still being converted by in-house designer Chris Norris (a conversion that Chris doesn’t expect to complete until August of next year) enough are done to give you a great idea of what the finished product will look like. There are a few catches and caveats but I think the sheer size and overall quality of the site makes it a well earned entry.
