Drupal as Blogging Software

Yes, I’m back with another Drupal plug for everyone. If you are already in a committed relationship with Movable Type or another publishing platform, I’m probably not going to change your mind. But if you aren’t yet married to your current blogging solution or haven’t even made the first move, I highly suggest giving Drupal a try.

Drupal is capable of much more than blogging, but it certainly has enough to offer as blogging software for most of us. In particular, if you are just starting with the development your personal site, Drupal will allow you to start as a simple blog while building a much more extensive site around it.

There’s a lot happening in the Drupal community. Most notable is probably the recent release of Drupal 4.5.0. A lot of the features that folks like myself have been begging for have been added this time. It’s making steady progress with each new release, something we can all appreciate.
