“What? What makes voting NEWS???”
Well, here’s the story -
A few days ago, I got an e-mail from CoffeeCup software. Anyone who pretends to be a Web developer in the least will know the name. They’ve been publishing HTML editors and other Web dev software for years and their library of tools has become one of the largest.
Now, however, they’re about to post a first - they’re giving away a brand new program as an incentive to vote. Not for any particular party or candidate, but simply to use that American right to express your wish over who should govern our country (or, depending on your area, who should become local Dog Catcher).
Here’s the text of the e-mail:
Hi there,
Since everyone is waiting for the Election to take place, we decided
to release the New CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2005 on November 9th.
(and boy it’s looking great)This is also a good time to thank everyone for our 8 years in business
in a way that matches our reputation of being socially active. If you are a U.S. Registered Voter just take a picture of yourself at
the polls on November 2nd and e-mail it to vote@coffeecup.comIf we receive your picture by November 9th we will send you the
New CoffeeCup HTML Editor for Free!“Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may
cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.”
