SEO without Usability

I’ve been fortunate this has not happened to me. I guess my method of shopping online has been successful. But if I searched for a product through a search engine and ended up on a Web site where there is little description, no prices, and no pictures… I’d pass on making the buy. This article is an excellent example of making a Web site too good for search engines but forgetting about usability. Usability needs to come first.

You might argue that SEO comes first for without getting people to the site, there is no reason for usability. True, but you might get people to the site in other ways besides SEO and you don’t want to turn them off due to lack of usability. Besides, you can accomplish both. If this particular site can improve its usability, I am sure its search engine results won’t get worse.
