I’m a weblogger, and I don’t have a handheld version of my site - there I said it - but, I’m working furiously to rectify the situation. I didn’t quite think much of having a handheld version of my daily ramblings, but after taking a glance at A List Apart’s article on the importance of offering a handheld version of your site, I began to reconsider.
The article relates that many on PDAs or cell phones lack the ability to horizontally scroll, and that large images associated with involved site designs are often costly to download and can also lead to confusion in the design if the user has images turned off. The solution? Offer a low-profile, simple, CSS version of your site for handheld users.
This of course, is just another great reason you should take the leap and start switching from tables to CSS.
